Malkara School was opened in 1970 and originally consisted of two schools; a preschool run by the Commonwealth and a School for Special Purposes run by the NSW Department of Education. Since its foundation it has expanded considerably to cope with growing enrolments.
In the 1970s a transportable was erected and this was followed by the constructions of a hydrotherapy pool, an ablution block and laundry. In 1990 a completely new wing comprising three classrooms, therapy rooms and a larger resource centre was built.
Over the last half century, our school has grown to accommodate the ever-evolving needs of our students and surrounding community. Take a tour of our current facilities here.
