Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)

The Purpose of the Malkara School’s Positive Behaviour for Learning is to build a positive environment where students feel safe and confident to establish respectful relationships.

Malkara has adopted the values of We are Safe, We Learn and We Care. Students learn about the values through classroom lessons and applying the skills in school and the community.

Our Mascot, Pogo the Possum

Pogo the Possum is the school’s mascot. All students love it when Pogo visits the school.

We are continuing to develop our Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) framework. PBL is a framework for the school and its community, to collectively support the wellbeing of every student by:

  • teaching all students what is expected of them
  • students responding positively as they have been taught what is expected of them
  • staff delivering consistent responses to student learning and behaviour
  • students feeling safe and cared for at school
  • data, systems and practices driving the process
